Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked Bimbo to invest more in Canada, where it already has 16 production sites and some 4,300 employees.
Trudeau made the request to Grupo Bimbo CEO Daniel Servitje at the meeting the two held Monday in Mexico City as part of the X Summit of North American Leaders.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada (OPMC), Trudeau expressed his gratitude to Servitje for Grupo Bimbo’s investment and operations in the country.
‘The Prime Minister encouraged Grupo Bimbo to maintain and expand its investments in Canada’the OPMC said in a statement.
During the meeting with Servitje, he also emphasized that Canada is an attractive country for investment thanks to its low costs, access to export markets, commitment to renewable energy and state-of-the-art agricultural technology.
It should be noted that Grupo Bimbo, which also has 11 distribution centers and 183 warehouses in Canada, is the largest Mexican investor in that country.
