the space telescope james webb (JWST) has once again shown in images what was previously unknown as it has captured this time new images of jupiterstorms are perceived in them giants and extreme winds, this offers scientists the theory that it probably has life in it.
For example, the US space agency (POT) released the details of these images that allow to observe auroras at high latitudes, these portraits are from the near infrared camera (NIRcam), because of its acronym in English, which has three infrared filters that show the details of the planet.
Instead, the Great Red Spot or the famous sandstorm that the POT could swallow the earth, it appears white in these images, this is because it reflects a lot of sunlight.
“Here the brightness indicates high altitude, so the Great Red Spot has high altitude nebulae, as does the equatorial region. The numerous bright white ‘spots’ and ‘streaks’ are probably high altitude cloud tops from condensed convective storms.reported Heidi Hammel, an interdisciplinary scientist at webb for Solar System Observations and Vice President for Scientific Research at the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA).
Why are there blue and red spots in the new Jupiter images?
Since infrared light is invisible to the human eye, the light had to be assigned to the visible spectrum, i.e. wavelengths longer waves appear redder Y the shorter the bluer.
You can also see in the pictures Jupiter’s rings which are “a million times fainter than the planet”, as well as the two small moons that Amalthea and Adrasthea.
The James Webb Space Telescope is a joint NASA mission with the European Agency (ESA) and the Canadian Agency (CSA) and was launched last December and which will give us two new images of Jupiter.
