The hospital “Dr. Nicolas Lozano” of The mercy It has a new state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine that allows high-definition imaging studies to be performed.
The equipment was purchased with funds from the national Redes program, it is of Canadian origin, brand SG HEALTH CARE- Model E7239X, with an investment of more than $9 million.
By using the equipment, very accurate diagnoses can be made without having to refer the patient to a more complex facility for the examination.
In this regard, the Minister of Health, John Joseph Stephen, stated that “diagnostic imaging services are being modernized with funds from this outstanding national program. Recently, two new devices have already been installed in the hospitals of Santa Victoria Oeste and Colonia Santa Rosa”.
In addition, the official claimed that the integration of high-quality digital technology avoids the use of cassettes and radiographic plates.
The general director of the hospital, Darío Flores, stated that “the team comes to respond to the community and to professionals, allowing us to make accurate diagnoses for the definition of the pathology, control, monitoring and evolution.”
“Likewise, it promotes communication with patients to understand their health issues through the use of images to explain the diagnosis,” he added.
The hospital presides over a community of 15,500 residents, 85 percent of that population is urban and the remainder is rural.
The establishment, of the second level of complexity, is in charge of the health posts of San Agustín and Sumalao. In addition, it provides medical assistance to the municipal posts “25 de Mayo” and “El Huaico”, with the aim of making public health care accessible to the community.
Flores indicated that the hospital’s health services are “general practitioner care, medical clinic, pediatrics, dentistry, laboratory, nutrition, psychology, nursing, primary health care, cardiology check-up and patient transfer ambulance service”.
