Each of the Canadian provinces has its own processes for the arrival in its territory of migrant population Qualified in several fields.
In the case of Alberta, a region that has become a global technology benchmark, there is the accelerated migration program Accelerated Tech Pathway, which offers one of the shortest times to become a resident if you are a qualified professional in technology field. Until 2020, the process took nine months, but this accelerated program reduced the time frame to six months.
This is due to the proliferation of technology companies in Alberta that has doubled since 2018 to date. This record growth requires the arrival of highly qualified professionals, explains Doug Schweitzer, Canada’s minister of employment, economy and innovation. For this reason, the accelerated migration program is trying to attract the best talent in the world to this country.
Who is eligible?
You must be a technology professional and your profile must be in the federal government’s Express Entry system. In addition, it is necessary to have a job offer in Alberta or already work for an employer in that Canadian province, in one of the 37 priority professions.
In certain cases, Alberta provides a letter of support to applicants to apply for a work permit.
How to apply?
Once you’ve verified your eligibility, you can apply as follows:
1. Register in the quick entry system. You must qualify for one of the following programs: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, or the Federal Skilled Trades Program. You must complete an online form for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). You must include information about your work area and your Express Entry profile.

The program checks the data to see if you qualify. An email will notify you when you have the green light. The message will guide you through applying for a provincial nomination. This is only valid if it comes through this email.

It is advisable to check after receiving the e-mail whether you meet all the requirements of the program. If you provide incorrect data, you will not be able to submit new data for a maximum of five years.
